T-Mobile collects a monthly surcharge on behalf of your local government in order to implement 911 emergency services. State legislation imposes the amount, and T-Mobile's compliance with these charges is a legal requirement.
T-Mobile Monthly4G Transactions
Several states have now enacted 911 surcharges for accounts. Depending on your local government, the surcharge is either a flat rate or a percentage of your transaction, and subject to change at any time.
911 surcharges are:
- To be charged and collected by the retailer in addition to any other charges or fees.
- Collected on each and every retail transaction regardless of whether the service or wireless telephone is purchased in person, by telephone, through the Internet, or other method.
- Not to be included for purposes of calculating sales tax.
- Can change at any time.
Note: Because 911 surcharges are per transaction, you may wish to purchase your refills, phones, and Monthly4G plans all in one transaction to minimize the amount of surcharges.
