Make an Equipment Installment Plan (EIP) payment

Learn how to make an EIP payment and to see your EIP balance on this page. In addition to making your regular monthly payment, you can also pay extra toward your EIP balance for any amount, at any time. The extra payments will not reduce your monthly installment amount, but it will reduce the number of installments you have left to pay.

Exception: If you pay off an entire remaining device balance, you'll see a reduction to your monthly installment amount as you're no longer billed for that device.

Important: If you have an EIP created after August 25, 2013, you have the option to apply EIP payments toward a specific device on an EIP. This helps if you want to pay down, or pay off, the balance of a single device. For all EIPs created before August 25, 2013, the EIP payments can only be applied toward the total plan balance.

Steps

To make a payment or see your EIP balance, you can go to any T-Mobile retail store or call Customer Service. You can also pay online and see your balance at My T-Mobile by following these steps below:

  1. Log into your My T-Mobile online account, and click Billing along the top of your My T-Mobile page.
  2. On the Billing overview page, click View Details in the Equipment Installment Plan (EIP) section.
  3. Click Make a payment under the phone or device for which you want to make an EIP payment.
Note: If a small box opens informing you that you're leaving to a different page, click Continue or Leave this page.
  4. In the field Enter amount to pay today, enter the amount you'd like to apply toward your EIP balance.
  5. Click APPLY (or click the box next to Pay in full if you want to pay off the entire EIP balance).
  6. The screen won't change, but just below that, the amount you entered will now appear next to TOTAL AMOUNT TO BE PAID TODAY:.
  7. Enter your payment information within the Enter payment method section and select Next to continue.
  8. Review payment details, including Terms & Conditions.
  9. Check the box next to I have read and agree to the Terms and Conditions.
  10. Click Submit to apply the payment.

Additional information about your payment

After making a balance payment, your EIP remaining balance will decrease immediately. The amount you paid posts to your account as a credit, and will apply at the end of your billing cycle. If you check your balance during this time, it will reflect a credit on the account.
Note: Keep in mind that your amount due will be incorrect, since your payment will go toward your EIP once your cycle closes.

Upon receiving the bill, you'll see the payment received and the offsetting charge to your EIP under Other Charges. This "Partial Charge" does not affect your amount due, it is simply a record showing that we took your EIP payment. If you make a payment in a Retail location, neither your payment nor the charge will show on the bill.
